Weekend Links

March 6, 2009

So sorry that I haven’t been here! I have an after school activity now that goes until 6 most days, so basically I get home, eat, do homework, and sleep. I’ll try my best to update regularly, but school is craaazy.

  • Here are some interesting charts of the pay gap between men and women in Europe. Very disappointing, I must say. I would like to see more graphs about the differences between working women and men.
  • I plan to use this blog post on GetRichSlowly to help me start my indoor garden 🙂
  • Kiplinger’s Erin Burt wrote an article about cutting cable – rather inspirational. She also gives cable alternatives (hulu, etc.) that are worth looking into.

Gardening is something that I hope to start to do more. When I was young, my family always had tomatoes and fruit trees (pear and peach!), but we stopped because we couldn’t figure out a way to get the deer to stop eating our food (very frustrating). So, I’ve been trying to do more research (GetRichSlowly has some great info) to find out what sort of indoor gardening I can do, as well as how to get all the deer out of my backyard.

I’ve decided that I want to grow some berries, preferably blackberries during the summer. So I’m going to get started on that once I find the time. Wish me luck!
